In 2005, Trail-Gear was founded with a simple idea. Build off-road parts that actually work on the trail. Not flashy parts. Not trend-driven parts. Just strong, dependable components designed by people who wheel and understand what breaks when conditions get real.
What started as a small operation serving hardcore rock crawlers has grown into a respected name across the off-road community. Today, Trail-Gear supports a wide range of vehicle platforms and driving styles, from dedicated rock buggies to daily-driven trail rigs. Yet the mission has never changed. Design, test, and manufacture parts that survive the harshest terrain and deliver real value.
At the core of our culture is a deeper purpose. Trail-Gear is led by Jesus, and our team is guided by a verse that reflects both our faith and our vision:
“But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses… to the end of the earth.” — Acts 1:8
We hold closely to the final words of that passage. To the end of the earth. It speaks to reaching farther, pushing deeper, and building with intention and conviction. It mirrors how we approach engineering, business, and the off-road community itself.
Our early years were shaped by hands-on problem-solving. Founders and early team members were fabricators, machinists, and wheelers who spent weekends on the trail and weekdays in the shop. When parts failed, they did not look for excuses. They looked for solutions. That mindset established the foundation for Trail-Gear’s in-house engineering approach.
As demand grew, so did our capabilities. We invested in product development, machining, and tighter quality control. Instead of relying solely on outsourced designs, Trail-Gear began engineering more components internally. This shift allowed us to control geometry, material selection, and manufacturing methods. It also meant we could respond faster to customer feedback and evolving vehicle platforms.
The expansion of our drivetrain lineup marked a major milestone. Ring and pinion gears, axle shafts, and differential components were developed to handle larger tires, heavier vehicles, and more aggressive driving. These parts were not designed for theoretical loads. They were designed based on real-world trail abuse and continuous testing.
Suspension and steering systems followed the same path. Rather than chasing travel numbers alone, Trail-Gear focused on geometry that works. Control arms, link kits, and steering components were engineered to improve articulation, reduce bind, and maintain predictable handling. Each design went through multiple revisions until it met our durability and performance standards.
Armor became another key category in our growth. Skid plates, sliders, and protective components were developed to shield critical vehicle systems without sacrificing clearance. The goal was simple. Let the armor take the hit so the vehicle can keep moving.
Over the years, Trail-Gear has also grown into a family of brands, each serving specific segments of the off-road world while sharing the same core values. Across all product lines, the focus remains on proven engineering, honest materials, and functional design.
One constant throughout our journey has been our relationship with the off-road community. Customers do more than buy parts. They share feedback, submit trail photos, report failures, and suggest improvements. Many Trail-Gear products exist today because customers asked for better solutions. We listen, we test, and we refine.
Reaching twenty years is more than a milestone. It is a reflection of thousands of design hours, countless trail miles, and a commitment to doing things the right way even when it is harder.
Our visual timeline tells this story through key moments. From early shop days and first product launches to major drivetrain expansions and modern engineering facilities. Each chapter represents growth built on the same foundation.
As we look ahead, the path forward is clear. Continue designing in-house. Continue testing on the trail. Continue building parts that earn their reputation through performance, not promises.
From our first product to everything still to come, we build with purpose. ■
