 The Hy-Pinion unit is ideal for use in front, V6 Unit should be used in rear. These units are easy to install in any 1979-1985 front axle or 1979-1995 rear axle on Pickups or 4Runners. Simply remove your axles, unbolt the third member. Drop in the assembled unit and reinstall the axles. When changing from low pinion front diff to a Hy-Pinion front diff it may be necessary to slightly shorten the front drive shaft.
 When setting up rear 3rd members we recommend using a CV joint on the  Tcase end of the rear drive shaft and rotating the axle so that the pinion points directly at the Tcase. For drive shaft working please see our drive shaft Distributors.

Hy-Pinion Gears All-Pro sells high quality gears by Yukon. They work great and hold up well to trail abuse. Many shops sell only 4cyl gears and use an extra shim to make the pinion gear fit the V6 housing.
